arg
I remember in middle school once, a teacher gave us a test basically to prove the point that you need to read EVERYTHING.  If you turned in a blank sheet of paper, you got an A.  This has the effect of making me read things...  Typically at work, if someone gives me something, I attempt to read the documentation on it and/or piece things together.

APPARENTLY I AM COMPLETELY ALONE IN THIS BEHAVIOR.

When we were being audited.  I got a list of the topics they wanted to cover, found each piece of documentation related to the topic and compiled a LARGE list of links to docs by topic.  The auditor didn't even LOOK at a single document and instead wanted me to walk her through everything, rather than do my actual job.

Tonight I'm up because I sent the Philippines a document on how to build an AD server.  Apparently they used it to make paper snowflakes during arts and crafts time, because the server I logged onto at 8 PM was COMPLETELY wrong.  Then I sent the document and they acted like it was BRAND FRIGGIN NEW.  *sigh*

Maybe I'll just have an arts and crafts hour next time with the admins, maybe they'll read the document as they paper-maiche with it...

Artist Alley Survival Guide
I have been working on on the AA Survival Guide for quite some time now, and I think it's nearing completion! At least, I've got all the major chunks done.

What I need, now, is for a couple of people willing to cast their eye over it to volunteer to read it and tell me if I'm confusing you anywhere, if I've left words out, or if you can think of a better way to word any section. Or if you can think of any advice I've left off, or have any further suggestions.

It's, er, almost 16K words long. When it's posted to the Tutorials section on projectbluerose.com (it'll be announced here, never fear!), it'll be broken up into short sections, and each section will have its own page, so it won't be overwhelming to read.

So! If you fear not, and want to look over it for me, then drop me a comment with your email address so I can invite you to the guide on Google Docs. THANKS!

Victoria's Secret has a brand/line called Angels.  And they tend to write the word ANGELS on a lot of the products, in fun scripty fonts.

Anyways, so today during one of my numerous pee breaks...I decided that they should make all the XS panties say "ANGLES" on them...as it would be more appropriate.

That is all...

Good lord...
I have actually done my first banning of a non-troll journal. (The comments in question are all frozen, since the person cannot answer back - it wouldn't be fair.)

Honestly, people, if someone misunderstands you it is your responsibility to APOLOGIZE, not to get up in arms because you weren't aware of the implication of your words. Own your fucking words! Or go complain in your own LJ!

P.S. It was the attempt to dictate to Rachel who could and could not answer her question that really torqued me off and spurred the ban. This is my LJ, and I am the dictator here! Argue all you want with each other, but be aware that I think ANYONE has the right to respond, and may.

dinner - Turkey Artichoke n' Rice bake
Last night's dinner was declared "good" - and so I'm putting the recipe up here, so that I won't forget it.

1 box of 4 cheese rice a roni
1 lb of italian seasoned ground turkey
1 can of med. artichoke hearts
1/2 a jar of herb & garlic pasta sauce
italian bread crumbs

Make the rice as directed; brown the turkey meat.
drain and chop the artichoke hearts in half
in a 8x8 baking dish layer:
chopped artichokes & 1/2 of the sauce
mix with 1/2 of the rice
mix with the meat
layer on top the rest of the rice (don't mix)
pour over the rest of the pasta sauce
sprinkle with bread crumbs

bake at 350 for approx. 35 minutes.

Hey, Keely? How large do you want this blanket? Sixty inches? More toddler sized? I'm off to grab some more yarn tomorrow, so I thought I'd ask.

Death Trance: the followup
I got my DVD of Death Trance today and settled in to watch the extras. The Making Of is unfortunately way too short, but there's a fairly decent interview with the star of the movie. And it's hilarious to realize just how seriously they were taking this thing.

There is, however, something that Tak Sakaguchi, the aforementioned star, would like us all to know... )

Whatsherface, my roommate...
No, I don't have a roommate now unless you count the cat. I was just reminded about something as I was making a note to myself. For a moment there, I couldn't remember [info]myrialux's real name. Which isn't that worrying if you happen to know that I always completely blank out on names of people close to me. If I have a roommate, the default name for them is "Whatsherface, my roommate." And what makes this funnier is that it even happens when I have a roommate named Stephanie, as I did for three years (two different Stephanies, even!).

I really need a I CANNOT BRAIN I HAVE THE DUMB icon.

The trifecta is complete.
My dad just called to let me know that they had to put my dog Chiquita to sleep this morning. She was in end-stage kidney failure.

random
So judging by the strains of "Happy Birthday" earlier today, I think there was a cake-related festivity in my office.  My cube is situated about 10 feet from the break area, so I must pass the glass panes that allow views in and out everytime I attend a meeting.  Today, as I wander around to various places...I notice that someone has abandoned their cake.  A single slice with two bites out of it is sitting in the sunbeam patch on a solitary table.  I feel vaguely sorry for it.  I wonder if it tasted bad- or if the group dieter got that piece and just picked at it and held the plate to "look" as though they were eating...  All these random thoughts wander through my head.

Along with the fact that someone once wrote a song about leaving cake out in the rain.

Oh, and I want to see how long that cake stays there...that too...

And I wonder if I should get rid of my couch.  But that's not really related to cake.
