Why is all the good stuff coming out when I really shouldn't be splurging? *sigh*
July is being rather cruel to me.

Pushing Daisies: The Complete Second Season

Edit: someone claimed this as a birthday gift for me. YAY!

You'd never know it was summer in my office. The building has the AC set to high to combat the heat, so I have to wear a coat each day at work. Some of my coworkers are better off as they are near large windows, so the heat that gets in balances things out. Me? I'm in a cubicle tucked away from the windows. Not so great during the summer, but great during the winter (when those same large windows let heat out).

There's a good chance I'll be at home tonight instead of out socializing (more nursing of the feet... le joy). If so, methinks this will occupy much of my evening:

Chess in Concert - starring Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, Kerry Ellis, and more

If I like, I may buy the DVD. This was filmed just over a year ago in London.

Edit: I must have liked it, as I now own it.
So THAT'S where the song "One Night in Bangkok" comes from!

All of this will come true unless we choose to reverse it .
Read the message, then read it again in reverse.
Which generation do you belong in?
--------------------------------------------
Lost Generation by Jonathan Reed

I am part of a lost generation
and I refuse to believe that
I can change the world
I realize this may be a shock but
“Happiness comes from within.”
is a lie, and
“Money will make me happy.”
So in 30 years I will tell my children
they are not the most important thing in my life
My employer will know that
I have my priorities straight because
work
is more important than
family
I tell you this
Once upon a time
Families stayed together
but this will not be true in my era
This is a quick fix society
Experts tell me
30 years from now, I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of my divorce
I do not concede that
I will live in a country of my own making
In the future
Environmental destruction will be the norm
No longer can it be said that
My peers and I care about this earth
It will be evident that
My generation is apathetic and lethargic
It is foolish to presume that
There is hope.
------------------------------------------------

And all of this will come true unless we choose to reverse it .
Read the message, then read it again in reverse.
Which generation do you belong in?

Here's a lovely reason to visit Colorado. Seriously.

About time I put some more dessert recipes on here. This one looks fun. While I enjoy coconut, I may opt out of it. Does peanut butter and chocolate really need it? Anyway, ganked from someone on a different journal, orig. recipe from MyRecipes.com.

Train Horns

Yar.
I wonder if that frequency is similar to my TV at the apartment. I can hear when it's been left on (meaning all the inputs are turned off but the TV was left on), and it bugs me enough that if I'm in that room, I go turn the TV off. My roommate can't ever hear it.

Some lyrics before I head to bed, as I wait on a low BG to reverse.

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late,
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last,
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had, if today was your last day?
What if, what if, if today was your last day?

Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the price is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you're never living twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life...

And would you call those friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories?
Would you forgive your enemies?
And would you find the one you're dreaming of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you'd finally fall in love if today was your last day?

So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment of this life
Let nothing stand in your way
'Cause the hands of time are never on your side
